People don’t often read about a mental hospital hero.
Here is funny fable about one such person, who turned out not be a hero after all, but just plain crazy.
His name was Jack who was big and strong and a very powerful swimmer
What made him a mental hospital hero?
The story goes as follows.
Jack and Jane were patients in a local mental hospital.
One day as they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, for some strange reason Jane suddenly jumped into the deep end of the pool without warning.
Not being able to swim she sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.
Jack immediately jumped into the swimming pool to save her.
He dived all the way to the bottom of the pool where was and pulled her out just in time to save her life.
When the director of the institute learned of the mental hospital her, he immediately ordered Jack to be discharged from the hospital, as he now considered Jack to be a mentally stable person.
When he went to Jack with the good news the director told Jack, “I have some good news and some bad news for you.
The good news is you’re being discharged from the mental hospital, because you were able to respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of another patient.
I have concluded that your act displays that you have a sound mind.
The bad news is, Jane, the patient you saved, hung herself in the bathroom with his her bathroom robe just after you saved her life.
I’m sorry to inform that she has died.”
Jack told the director, “Oh, Jane didn’t hang herself. I put her there to dry out.”
“When will I be discharged from hospital so I can go home?”
